Sinusitis Massage

The term  sinusitis means an inflammation of one or more of the sinus cavities. 

When an  irritation or allergy is inhaled through the nose it often lands on the mucus  membranes surrounding the sinus cavities. These membranes are highly sensitive  and can become irritated very easily. When this happens, the mucus membranes  begin to swell and become thick. They also start to produce more mucus.

Any  thickening in these areas can result in the narrowing of the exit pathways or  ostia making it difficult for mucus to drain freely. As mucus becomes trapped  and builds up in the sinus cavities tremendous pressure, pain and headaches can  be felt.

It is this  blocked or trapped mucus that is the main reason why one develops sinusitis or  sinus infections (acute, chronic or recurrent) as any accumulated mucus can  become a haven for bacteria propagation and growth.

Fever and fatigue are two of the body’s natural, systematic ways to signal an  inflammation of one or more of the mucus membranes when they become invaded by  bacteria.

In very rare  cases, untreated sinusitis can spread towards the back of the head affecting  the brain and becoming life threatening.

Cancer/Oncology Massage

Oncology Massage is a special type of massage developed specifically for cancer patients. Cancer patients have unique needs which must be addressed to make sure that a massage is beneficial to their health. I focus my attention on creating a gentle, nurturing environment for you to relax into. 

Specializing in lymphatic drainage. I prefer to start these procedures before the client starts the chemotherapy and/or radiation treatments. It's very important to keep the lymph nodes which are trash receptacles of the body flushed during this time. However we will meet clients at any stage of their journey.

Medical Massage Therapy

PLEASE NOTE:  Once you receive a Physician Referral from your Physician call in to schedule service.  You will be provided with a receipt to be sent into your insurance provider for reimbursement.  In order for your insurance provider to reimburse for the above service you must meet your deductible prior to starting this program.

Geriatric massage is a form of massage designed to meet the specific needs of the elderly. It helps to improve blood circulation, relieve pain, and also increase range of motion. If you are elderly, geriatric massage can help you maintain and improve your overall health, as well as regain certain physical functions that have been reduced due to aging. In addition, since the elderly don't typically receive enough physical touch, this massage can also help alleviate symptoms of loneliness or depression.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping is an ancient Chinese method of causing local congestion. A partial
vacuum is created in cups placed on the skin either by means of suction.
This draws up the underlying tissues. When the cup is left in place on the skin
for a few minutes, blood stasis is formed and localized healing takes place.

Cupping therapy has been further developed as a means to open the 'Meridians'
of the body. Meridians are the conduits in the body through which energy flows
to every part of the body and through every organ and tissue. There are five
meridians on the back that, when opened, allow invigorating energy to travel the
whole length of the body. It has been found that cupping is probably the best
way of opening those meridians.

Cupping has also been found to affect the body up to four inches into the
tissues, causing tissues to release toxins, activate the lymphatic system, clear
colon blockages, help activate and clear the veins, arteries and capillaries,
activate the skin, clear stretch marks and improve varicose veins. Cupping is
the best deep tissue massage available.

Neuralgia or Neuropathy

In general, neuralgia and/or neuropathy causes intense and distinct symptoms, including:

• sudden episodes of extreme shooting or stabbing pain that follows the path of a damaged or irritated nerve.
• persistent aching or burning pain.
• tingling or numbness.
• muscle weakness.
• loss of muscle mass, or atrophy.
• involuntary muscle twitching or cramping.

You will realize diminished symptoms after first treatment. Normally takes three sessions to get conditions under control. Body will then be pain free.
